Good/Best(softest) spings..lowered. Im tired of my TRD's.
![]() I still would like to keep the car lowered, so being that, what can I get that can give me that lowered look but with a much softer ride? I dont want to hear "you can save by going with..." I dont care if its going to cost $500 instead of the $200 those other springs cost. I just want a good ride, maybe even a recommendation on shocks or even struts? Im going crazy, two nights ago ran over something and destroyed two of my tires. So now, not only do I need new tires, but I might as well get new rims. So while I'm at it, I need a softer suspension. BTW, I like the fact Volvo/Mercedes have buttons which you can change the feel of the road instantly from being very stiff to the point where you cant even feel bumps in the road, I wish i could do something like that to the car...... ![]() |

Well for softest springs, I think the softest available are the Tanabe NF's?
As for adjustable stiffness suspension, you can get it with some TEIN coilovers, such as I have, with their EDFC system. But, even at the softest setting, they're still pretty damn firm ![]()

That sounds good so far, but wow, still firm on softest setting?

Hate to tell you this , but TRD is the softest
I use the TRD shocks and Tein springs and even the girlies say that is a remarkably good ride . Did you cut the bumpstops on your current set up ? If you did , buy new ones and put them back on .

Tanabe NF210 (which I have in stock, hint hint):
Spring rate F/R: 2.5/2.2 Drop F/R: 1.1"/1.3" Anyone know the specs on the TRD's?

Hi!
|
softest ride from springs that will lower your car are oem springs with cut coils (if ultimate softness at any expense is what you are after).

Hahaha.... thats funny, but I need a suspension that will suit all my needs. I'm still doing my research and hope that by Tuesday i have my answer. Once I do, I'm going for it, my car should be back from the body shop Wed night, and then I will order new rims and tires. I guess I should just get myself the fog lights now and try converting those to HID's as well? lol

What kind of struts do you have? Spring rate isn't neccesarily why your ride is jarring.

Yes, I drive normally. Sometimes I like to have fun on curves and turns and stuff, but regular driving always by the speed limit and the bumps are still harsh. So I need to cut the bumo stops but either way ill probably get a new suspension.
And now I need a new bumper. Stupid girl slammed into the back of my car last night. |

Let me clarify . If you cut the bump stops , the ride will be harsher

since you have the TRD springs with the stock shocks, perhaps you need the TRD shocks. not sure if this would help your ride though. perhaps the stock struts are going bad?

Don't go with NF210's if you want soft. The ride is tolerable but I'm debating taking mine off and going back to the stock springs for the same reason. Yes, I know I have 17's with low profile tires, but I installed the springs 10,000 miles before the tires/wheels and have to say the springs made the biggest contribution to the stiff ride.
In addition, my NF210's dropped me over 1.5 inches and I scrape if I don't perfectly pull into my driveway (very frustrating). Has anyone else measured their long term settling with NF210's? Too much drop for me and too stiff. Sorry I don't have a remedy for you, but I'll be interested in what you find. Edit: Just read a post by C2AUTOSPL; the NF's are stiffer than the DF's in the rear. Is this a misprint? |
