Any other '09 5-door Polar Whites? Here's mine.

I was waiting until I got mud-guards and rear bumper protector installed as well as the license plate holes fixed until taking pictures, but I just wanted to show mine to everyone!

Well, dealer says mud-guards for the 5-door LB don't exist yet (even though you can choose them when configuring the 5-door LB on Toyota.com), rear bumper protector and bumper hole fix comes next week.

Here it is:

When looking for a polar white 5-door, I specifically asked them to make sure that holes for the front license plate were not drilled. They got one in, but the holes were there. So I went ahead and put the screws in and then chrome caps over them. They've scheduled their body shop to fix the holes next week, but I think the chrome caps there are growing on me.

The new stock tail lights look better than the stock tail lights on the '07LB. Not sure if I want to install the TYC tail lights.

I like what they've done with the stock tails, but why-oh-why did they do what they did to the headlights?!?!

Well, I guess it's time to sell the TYC tails. The 5-door uses a new / different shaped connector for its tail lights.

Not many are happy that come to the dealerships by me about this new look.

I still prefer the zenki version.

I'm a little bit sad. I cleaned my car today and found a spot on the top surface of the rear bumper where the paint looks wrinkled. The wrinkled paint is in a circle area the size of the end of a No.2 pencil's eraser. I haven't used the cargo / hatch space yet and only use it when I need to buy groceries. I haven't had to go out to buy groceries since the Thursday before I bought this car. Looks like it was there already when the car was received at the dealer.

I hope they can fix it.

So what's up with the front bumper? Are you not required to have front plates?

Rockland, do those tails have two sets of connectors (the ones the '07 LBs use and the new ones in the '09 5-door LBs)?

Also, do you know if the mudguards for the 3-door LB (PT769-52060) work with the 5-door LB?

I posted something about the mudguards here and what my dealer's parts department said:

We don't need to have front plates here in NV.

i do believe the old mudguard part number will work. as for the connectors i have to check the parts reader in the morning. the dealer was wrong and didn't bother to check accessory catalog cause its there plain as day for 2009. just cause toyota can't keep the YARI on the lot doesn't mean everyone wants mudguards so i can't understand parts guy's explanation.......

There are plastic colour-matched plugs that just pop into the licence plate holes. They are very small, almost invisible, and actually look pretty darn good when you do notice them. I'd rather go that route than have the bumper filled, sanded, and resprayed.

Thanks for the bumper plug idea kimona. I found bumpergplugs.com and they sell "Grand Prix White" bumper plugs for almost $30.

The dealer is supposed to fill the holes and paint for free so I think I'll take that route.

I've also been toying around with an idea. Put a white, 5mm LED in each hole and tie them into the parking lights.

Anyone try this before?

Cool. When you get a chance, let me know if the '08 LB mudguards definitely fit the 5-door '09 LB. Not really concerned w/ the tail lights right now since the stock '09 tail lights look pretty good. Would be nice to know though if that new part number you posted has connectors for both the '07 / '08 LBs and the '09 LBs.

I googled that part number you posted above (PT769-52090) and the only hit is this thread.

How hard is it for Toyota to offer the JDM HID headlights and LED taillamps as a factory accessory option?? Toyota could make some good money off of those options. Kinda makes me mad how we have to go out of our way to install them at a later date.

DOT reflector requirements for one reason. Unless you do something to satisfy the regulated need for the reflectors which the JDMs don't have, you are at risk of being ticketed.

That's my understanding from a Canadian perspective.
