Mini cars take on Chevrolet

The Aveo will be killed and replaced with 3 clones.

Just read and enjoy: also a 1.4L Turbo might be on their list, but I doubt they will be able to get it, If they do, I want the 1.5L Turbo or 1.8 Turbo, RWD!!! well crap, make the yaris a bit bigger and cram a 2zz in it! Instant seller.

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/04/n...nd-trax-conce/

anyway, props to Chevy for finally catching on to the small cars sell idea.
oh, and Micro Jeeps are next!

But they only thing I dig on the chevy idea is those tail lights on the Beat, they are hot.

Note that the Groove is listed as being a diesel. A small 4 door w/ hatch that I bet would have something akin to the configurable seats in the Honda Fit. If they give me all that plus a diesel which should get 40mpg-50mpg and price it under $20k then I'll buy domestic. That right there got my vote.

note that these are only SEMA cars, they wont be out till prolly the 2010 area...

Lots can change when it comes to Toyota bringing Diesel power to the States.

Not to mention that the AE09 Corolla is to be released, yes a RWD 1.6L powered Corolla Coupe!!!!

Anyway, we can expect Toyota to become VERY competative, especially when GM and Ford are looking to gain big ground that they have lost within the last 10 years

Putting words in their mouth, aren't you? They never mentioned any such notion.

Also:
"While there's no guarantee the highest vote getter will be built, it will help guide the development of a future global mini car from GM."

Like most concept cars, what finally hits the market, if it ever hits the market at all, will be a far cry from what they've shown everyone at the show.

That's oooold news, BTW.

I think at this point GM is testing the waters to see the reaction to these cars. They were engineered and designed in Korea to my knowledge. So techincally its not really GM, okay its under them but...anyway the Aveo is new for 07 so I doubt it will be dropped soon unless GM does what Toyota does is have a separate division for these cars then still have one for the Chevy, like Toyota has Scion then the Yaris.

ok, honestly...if you have 3 micros in production why have a so-so selling 4th one that is outdated and cheaper than a can of Walmart Brand Baked Beans.

As for the new Corolla that is be produced in 09'
