tow hook

When my 09 had to get towed onto a flatbed the guy said the tow hook wouldn't screw into the threards. This is an 09, has anyone else ran into this?

why was the flatbed guy using the tow hook? most good towers use LCA or chassis hookups.

Yeah, I've wondered why it even HAS a tow hook. Especially one that's located way off to one side.

I've never had a tow truck guy ask for the tow hook, either.

And it should have screwed in. Note that those threads have never been used on most cars, so it is a tight fit and requires some effort. (That's probably why a few people have broken the for-show version I sell).

yeah that's where we are right now

can you imagine how hot the yaris would be with aluminum LCA's? and rear suspension designed to do more than keep the back bumper from dragging on the ground?

it's not a real link

we're not on a BMW forum here. i never said that EVERY CAR should be pulled onto a flatbed by it's LCA's. i was obviously referring to "most" good towers and also mentioned chassis hookups.

nice try though

Lol ...

the acronyms we use that might have people confused ...

LCA
RUCA
RLCA

Nay way, I haven't tried mine yet. Actually I learned a little something last week. The imports that have the little popout in their bumpers (square or round) for the towhook are made in the good ol Aisa land ... meaning we're still a little JDM in a way lol.
