Drove it some more and notice the front creaks when stopping . Seems to be the passenger side . Went on the interstate and can hear it whistling through the hole in the bumper . Also when the steering wheel is level it goes to the left and can feel some resistance when coasting . The car is still getting good gas mileage for now . Last , now have a grating / grinding noise when turning neck to the left .

I've had to replace only the two SIDE panels... TWICE... But I vote $2,500 since that's what it cost me... TWICE...

Got 2 quotes . Average is $1,800 . The adjuster came today , waiting on that verdict . Not likely to be totaled . Looks like CT is the closest so far . There are rattles and creaking in the dash and outside somewhere in the engine bay . The car will never be the same .

Yes ... very common scenario. She was probably texting or talking on the phone. (My excuse for every accident .. hehe) In other words .. she wasn't paying attention. Happens all the time.

While driving back in the dark after getting neck looked at we noticed driver side high beam is closer than than the passenger side . Will have to fiddle with that . The Eco-Meter is showing 39.3 . Not bad since this includes more city driving due to paperwork needed from D.M.V. , insurance agent visit and 2 appraisals . Aso includes some wet roads , wind , and the 2 of us for the whole tank . It's about .4 lower than the calculated gas mileage . If the calculated is lower it may be a tip off of front end problem(s) or alignment .

Appraised at a little over $2,000 . Not sure if going to get it repaired . If not , the plastic piece of bumper will be needed . Thus , no prize . Sorry CT .

Still getting decent gas mileage . Think there was about 1/2 a tank when happened . Have to see if this new tank keeps the same . The calculated is 40.29 . 1 blinking bar .

CT Scott , I wanted to ask your opinion regarding the recent accident we had. Do you think the frame could be bent? We took the vehicle to two body shops and they both indicate that they don't think the frame is bent. Called a few others and they said the same thing based on the information I gave them regarding the damage. Do you think it would wise to have it put up on a frame rack and measured. It would cost roughly $100 or so . Also, did either of your two crashy's have frame damage? Thanks

Crashy 1 had some frame damage, but she completely rolled and had the passenger side A arm bent more than 4 inches back.

Crashy 2 had none (and I checked by putting her on the lift and measuring opposite diagonal points along the front).

In your case I would say that frame damage is highly unlikely.

We're leaning in your direction . May pass on the frame rack and go with the alignment rack . Has close to 50,000 miles . Went for a trip out of town and it's getting good gas mileage . The Eco-Meter is .5 lower than the calculated gas mileage , so slightly over 42 m.p.g.. Maybe an 4 wheel alignment will bump it up some .

I'm wondering if CT has any desire for a sedan?

Once the bodyshop open the bumpe,r they will find another problem and again and again till they can inflate the price to $5000 and will take a month to fix it.

Actually that all looks fine, including the small amount of movement with that clip. I thought you were saying that it was moving 1/2" or so.
