9.3 lb. Kosei wheels

Here's a low-pressure cast 14" wheel (made in Japan) by Kosei that weighs about 9 lbs!

I'm surprised I haven't seen any Yaris on this forum running 14's yet.

Anyway, you could run 205/60/14's; they're exactly the same diameter as the OEM 185/60/15's.

Photo's pretty poor. They look fabulous in person, and come in a few colours.

I think tirerack.com will carry them soon.

Here is a question... does less sidewall = less flex = higher performance? In other words, if you take two of the same tire... one w/ a 60 profile and one w/ a 40... will the 40 outperform the 60 or is it pretty much a wash?

Now, there's the question... a 14 with a 60, or 15 with a 50, or a 16...

I mean, logically I would think that less sidewall would mean less flex and through the 450 bajillion properties of physics that would basically be a good thing. Could be wrong, though. Either way, those wheels would be perfect for the track.

Makes sense to me...

At the track, you could run some Nitto 205/55/14's (NT-01's or NT555R's)... amazing tires! They're approved for the road as well, but get absolutely terrible treadwear of course.

A great link:

Does anyone know what is the width and offset of the 15" factory wheels?

I think that wheel above is great I want to look at other wheels too.

If I recall correctly, the OEM 15" steelies are 5.5, ET45's.
