Reinforcements

Would strut/tie/sway bars interfere with the effectiveness of the car's design and crumple zones and such during a collision? Would you see any improvement in a wreck if outfitted with said mods?

Unfortunatelly I have seen a real example of the description of that that you said.....A friend of mine had a car crash last year....Hit in the sidewalk with about 20-30 mph because tryed to avoid a dog in the road. The accident wasn't serious but the car dissolved from both sides because of the strut bar..
