Talking Got promoted at work - moved into a purple office! :)

I was promoted on Friday from Marketing Assistant/Graphic Designer to just Graphic Designer.

So I moved out of my old office into one with purple walls!

I can't really complain because it is like 2-3 times the size of my old office.

I can't find a good darker picture of a Yaris to put as the background.

I had one of PK's HDR pics up for a while, but the cleanness of the WRX picture makes it so I can find my files faster.

Ah how weird that this came up. I was actually just applying into graphic design yesterday, but I got so many negative comments about how I'm only good with computer graphics and suck with free hand, which is true.

Is it necessary to have free hand skills? To be able to draw well?

It depends on what type of design you are doing/going into. I have no free hand skills as well.

If you're good enough on the computer, you don't need freehand skills.

They can definately help though. I have a friend who can draw and do graphic design and he makes some sick stuff.

Yeh I'm pretty sure that it's a bonus hehe. Anyways it's just called graphic Design, that's all they offer. No specializing.

Btw, congratulations (:

Haha the last girl that worked here had the walls painted purple because she had always wanted a purple office.

And thanks :)

I'd advise to you to try a tablet. I use a 6"x8" Intuos 3 and it's the best way to make up for not being able to freehand IMO.

I am in Web Design & Development. It covers EVERYTHING. I have Photoshop and Illustrator classes as well as HTML, internet/intranet design, etc.

Personally I love it. And I know that ChinoCharles is doing the same/close to the same thing.

Also, I just noticed that you are from Lebanon. I just made some business cards for an employee we have in Lebanon. :)
