Tata Nano ($2000 car!!!)

Apparently the Tata Nano will be for sale March 23, 2009. It doesn't look too bad for 2 grand I would buy one if they bring them to the US and drive it around my neighborhood (NO FREEWAY though) MicroImage Tata's anyone? hahaha

Id rock one of these. Park it right outside my work, so I can drive this thing to my Yaris. Then pack it up in the trunk. I'd imagine I'd have to remove the spare tire to make it sit flush in the trunk.

Load it up with a decent stereo, nav and some new wheels and you'll have doubled its value

0-45 in like 14 secs, 33 hp engine, 5 seater. I can see this ending catastrohpically in accidents. Even though it may be light, this looks like a death tap more than i thought the yaris was, which turned out to take accidents nicely. One hit in this thing your'e dead. This isn't a smart car

I heard Tata is making a wood and canvas car for the Indian market. Could this be the luxury model?

Are you saying you feel safe in a smart car?? The yaris is pretty much as small as a car can get before you start losing crumple zones. No crumple zones means you eat a lot more force.

i bet it's safer than my motorcycle. probably safer than my bicycle. if driven in a defensive manner, probably safer than walking where this car will be driven most, in suburban settings. people that drive large cars say the yaris is dangerous because it's small. people that drive yaris's say the tata is dangerous because it's smaller. go figure. rock on.

For 70mph i think that holds up quite nicely, I hate the little things, but ill give them props especially if they have the hayabusa engine in there

And for shits and giggles i thought this was cute

We'll never see that cracker box here. However, for 2k (if that were possible) you can't lose...unless you were hit but an SUV, a Honda, a bicycle or a baby carriage, or a skate boarder. LMAO

Those are spot welds, and you'll notice those along the bottom seam of your Yaris too...

I think it looks sweet for $2000.

Apparently you haven't seen the whole video where they say anyone inside would have been killed. Yes the car will hold up nicely - that's not what you want. The yaris will crumple, giving you 3 feet front or back to absorb the force. The smart car has 6 inches to 12 feet, meaning your body takes somewhere between 5-10 times the forces in a smart car as a yaris, or any normal car.(oh oh! but my passenger door still opens and close!!)

Some of my friends were complaining about the xb getting smashed up in a 5-10 mph collision. I told them to talk to any chiropractor, and see how many people they are treating for 5-10 mph collision.

I guess if you'd rather spend 50 grand a year on medical expenses, instead of 5 grand once to fix your car, then sure, go ahead an go for the tiniest unibody solid steel car you can find. If you want to live through a car accident, then I'd suggest a car where your front feet are farther than 12 inches from the bumper.

You NEED room for crumple zones.(not I want, NEED)
