Hey everyone!

I just bought a 2009 Yaris 4-door HB in Carmine Red Metallic. It's arriving tomorrow! (See blog entry for entire purchasing story... :\)

Welcome. Just read your blog. Wow! Did you lose any deposit for walking away from the sedan?

Welcome.

We all know what the new car high feels like. That ordeal must have been just an incredible buzz kill. I think you may have to watch your terminology as I notice you refer to the car as a 4-door. Since your dealers have only had to deal with the 4 door hatch for a couple of months, they may tune in to 4 door and think sedan. The hatch is typically referred to as either 3dr or 5dr, leaving only the sedan as a 4dr model.

Anyways, happy motoring. I know you'll absolutely love it.

Yes, they kept the $500 deposit. :\

Oh yeah, I've totally encountered that before (dealers—"you mean 5-door"). I think it's just a personal quirk of mine—it's a trunk, not a door, lol. But I was so sure I was always really clear about hatchback, because I know there are different models. But, like I said, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He was just not very nice. :(

Plus, another dealer told us it was a common practice to practically bait-and-switch, if the car was already on the lot and the one you want is not. I guess I'll never know if it was on purpose or not, but it doesn't really matter. What made me the most angry was he just thought I was dumb, because he tried to tell me 4-door/5-door hatches weren't even out yet. ...

Moral of the story: get everything written down. Because I couldn't prove at all that I had said hatchback, and I had no concrete paperwork from him that we had been dealing with a sedan, lol. It was all a big fiasco, haha.

I bought my '09 Blazing Blue 3dr HB in November and have just started posting in the forums the last couple of weeks (after lurking in the background for a while). Already have a few mods and I get my American Racing Aero Chrome wheels installed Saturday!

i bought my 09 5dr S back in Feb after my 09 Fit got totaled. :/
in all honesty, i wasn't too fond of the yaris after i got it but i gotta tell ya, i absolutely LOVE that thing now. i most definitely like it alot better than the fit lol

Hi guys, great forum you have going on.
Just a question, (excuse my ignorance), but does a 2001 model yaris vvti have a timing belt or chain? I know the newer models have chains but for older models 2000 - 2002 is this true? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys im Debi from UK i have been on here before just couldnt log in for a while so signed up again, i drive a 51plate 1.5 T sport in blue good to be back only a few little up date at min but got a few mods lined up in new few months :)

i know it has been a while lol i have been working away and not had much time for car really i have picked up some 6 spoke 16in fox racing wheels only £25 with good tyres so going to refurb them white with blue rim :)
