Any advice or tricks needed for warding of mosquitos - Toyota Yaris Forums

So i live in california in the bay area. Today and the rest of this week its going to be hot. I just opend my window and i kid you not there are about 50-60 baby mosquitos on the glass outside it freaked me out ofr a second cause it looked like they were on the inside of it. I live right next to a creek so im always going to have them. Its torture at night cause somehow they manage to get into the house and bit you all night long. Also when my girlfriend comes over she is highly allergic to mosquito bites. Even the smallest one swells up and stays for a week.

Anyone know any good tricks to keep them away. I tried every store bough mosquito product. I tested them cause i sprayed it out my screen in the area where all the mosquitos are on the outside of the window and all it seems to do is attract more mosquitos.

Also i have thse stupid little flies that keep comming out of the hole in my cealing from where the cealing fan is. I keep sucking them up with the vacuum cleaner but 10 minutes later theres 20 more. Finally found some ant spray under the sink and sprayed the cealing fan. Now there are no more =)

I am thikning of doing that all around the window trim in the house to see if it will keep the mosquitos away.

Looks like infestation! How about a buglight away from your window and then can of OFF! repellant. And there are natural plants that mosquitos hate. Maybe a bunch of those plants below your window might work?

Hmm if heard of those plants before i have to look into that. I will plant a entire garden of them lol

People have to water their yards less frequently. Puddles are a breeding ground. Look in your yard and your neighbors, and make sure there is no standing water. In four days mosquito larve can hatch. West Nile virus can kill. It's in your best interest to get rid of all standing water around you.

Keep the windows and doors closed as much as possible. Use portable fans if you want to save on not using AC. I saw a bunch of mosquitos today when cleaning my car in the garage. I live near Alvarado Niles Creek, so theres hella of them around my area, plus fruit flies everywhere ~_~..... I suggest going to Home Depot and askin the plant associate to recommend something...I dont trust half those products, just keep them away w/o opening a door for them to get into~~

There is a creek about maybe 15 feet away from my winow. Plenty of standing water that is unnavoidable.

I think im going to find a local breeder and buy 300 mosquito fish and let them go in the stream.

I have yet to try this, but I've heard that keeping a dryer sheet in your pocket prevents mosquitos from going to you. Also, don't eat bananas, I've notice that the more I eat bananas, the more I get bitten.

Spray some Raid onto the areas that you see mosquitos at. I've done this for areas that I see black widows (not sure if it'll work with mosquitos), and didn't wipe the area clean, I just left the puddle of Raid there to dry. Never seen another insect or arachnids in those areas ever again.

Also, those BIG mosquito-looking bugs (mosquito hawks/eaters), the sometimes eat the larvae of mosquitos, so don't kill those big ones. LOL.

A bit off tho, no bananas eaten, worked on my car for a couple hours in the garage with the garage door open, and I got 8-10 mosquito bites.

hahahaha. Yeah, that's what I mentioned. I call 'em mosquito eaters. My prior comment was in relation to how many bananas I ate to how many bites I received.

dont eat bananas and

DO take garlic vitamin pills.
they absolutely hate garlic in the blood, I kid you not.

also use citronella candles if you spend time outdoors.
