When it's suppose to rain, you can always cover it from the inside...maybe with foil? I know the EVO's have an aluminum guard for this reason.

or you could make a cover like the tow hook one ,
i like what you have done , looks nice , i was thinking of doing something similar.

the thought of rain getting to my filter and into my engine makes this a scary mod...

meh, with the amount of rain that would go through that lil hole, even at high speed in a torrential downpour, I doubt it'll be enough to clog the filter or get sucked up in a large enough volume to cause trouble inside the engine...
