Getting new wheels, but need help
Ok so I dont know much about wheels, but Im planning on getting 15x6.5 and each is about 15lbs (i know alittle heavy) and thinking dropping on NF210s.
Will I get any rubbing? Also idk what "offset" is, I tried to learn what all them numbers mean but just went threw one ear and out the other. but the offset is 38. They also said, that they recommend buying tuner lugs. idk what they are but do i need them? |

15x6.5, ET38 will be fine. 15 lbs. is not a heavy wheel. You will need new (tuner) lugs. NF's provide a moderate drop and rubbing issues should be minimal if any with the correct tyre size on that wheel.
Which size tyre are you planning to install? |

They recommended getting the same brand lugs as the wheels to insure fitment, But could I get different ones as long as its the same size? its says "forged, 12x1.5mm" So any 12x1.5mm will fit?
I just started to understand how to read tire sizes but don't know what size will make it rub. I hope to have 0 rubbing. So I'm guessing that the sidewall % is what will determin if it will rub or not right? So I will need 165/__R15. Can someone help me fill in my blank. Haha thanks Last edited by Taiyaki; 05-10-2009 at 01:20 AM. |

165 is the tire width, but it's too skinny for the Yaris. Stick to 195, a good standard width.
The "/__" should be 50. Since the wheels are 15", there isn't much out there. 50 or 45 (if you can find 45.) Dropping on Tanabe NF210 with this tire size should have 0 rubs unless you hit some of the many massive Oahu potholes. |

the wheel only comes in 15"x6.5. So I need to get 165 right? Or could I get 195? Yeah I just don't want to rub when I fully turn.

A 195 width tire would fit a 15x6.5 rim just fine. (on NF210 springs)
The factory tire size on your car is 185/65/15, correct? If you don't have any rubbing problems now with 185 width, don't get a tire that's even skinnier that your stock tires. If you're looking to save some money, you could put the stock tires on your new rims and have no rubbing problems Last edited by yarisugi; 05-10-2009 at 04:41 AM. |

You live on Oahu? Do you know the cheapest place to buy tires? Costco? |

Yes, Oahu. Cheapest place? Depends on the kind of tire. Cheapest tire? Probably Federal tires (a Taiwan company). Discount Tire in Mapunapuna has a good stock and they mount & balance. Sometimes other shops like Titan sells during closeouts, but I don't know if they mount/balance. Last time I went to Lex Brodie, they had Falkens for $85 and mount/balance was included in the price. This was for the 195/50/15. You can always check on FH (forumshawaii), CL (craigslist) or HT (hawaiitalks) and look for some good deals there, too.

go rons performance they sell good tires the stickier the better for grip in dry and wet i recommend hankook rs2s or kumho asx and run a 195/50/15 the 45s might be to harass if you going drop to stiff thats why but 50 is the common size for this size rim you could even runa 205/50/15 or a 185/50/15 depends on where you want the lip sheilded by the tire or not

^if you do go Ron's talk to dave (mechanic) about changing out your tires. I had him put the tire pressure sensors on my new rims.

With the NF drop and those new wheels (15x6.5, ET38), install 195/55/15's. That's it. Period.

also they said its best to get the same brand lugs to insure correct fitment. They are 12x1.5mm. Could I just get any lug as long as its 12x1.5mm?
