This is probably staged.... but it's realistic. They should have taken the hint with the taunting.... they were being lead into an ambush.

When you follow someone else they're deciding on the destination. They have the initiative. They might have family or friends close by who can lend them a hand. They might have a friend who runs a scrap yard nearby who could cube up your car and send it to a steel mill or overseas. Alternately one of those hammermills can reduce your carcass to pulp along with your car. It's just scrap metal, at so much per ton.

They could also shoot you in the car, set it ablaze and the Police might conclude that you were up to no good and got what was coming to you.

It's not cowardice to avoid disaster, it's prudence. I figure if someone is really being off the hook I'd just turn in their license plate ID along with a complaint. Sure wouldn't follow them into a rural area.

Gene

PS

IF the "hillbillies" had real rural accents, if the narrator hadn't mentioned the "sewer" at the end of a dirt road (they'd clog you know) and if the guy with the piece hadn't gotten away with taking property at gunpoint, this would have been more believable.

Of course it's an obvious fake. I just posted it for fun. You all can't deny you didn't enjoy watching it though

It's easy when you run moonshine and live in a 30 year old trailer.
