If you have an iPhone, get this instead:

My friend has it, but I have yet to try it out myself.

Yes I recently installed one on my old yaris. Looks great and it's professionally made that makes a unique all in one gauge.

I also bought the g-force module aswell still to calibrate though!

The only problem encoutering is that to find compatable sensors like oil pressure etcc...

I had one, man. I tested it out on a 1/4 mile at it was nearly a half second off. Other than that it was nice, but I really wouldn't recommend it. Just trying to help you out bro. I ended up giving it to a "friend". The app I use on my iPhone is pretty accurate, which is rather surprising, lol. It would make a great set of gauges though for sure. I liked the shift light :D

Don't forget that if you want to connect external sensor like oil pressure, water temp etc.. you need an external optional module.

The gauge with no optional modules works as a rev counter and battery voltage detection only.

I've had one on long-term loan for a while and I've used it a few times. It's accuracy for acceleration readings requires a level surface. If the surface has any grade to it at all, it's going to affect the results for better or worse.

It's best use is for COMPARISON of acceleration. If you always test in the same place in similar conditions, whether the results are "accurate" or not, they should be repeatable. This allows you to test changes you've made to the car and see what kind of difference they REALLY make.

If you actually want realistic acceleration numbers, you need to find the flattest possible location on a day with no wind, do multiple runs in each direction and average them.

The Gtech Pro is a fun toy.

^^^ Loren, the thread is actually about G-Tech's Tach, not about their g force meter.

The title is a little misleading.

But I agree with you! I also have on of their G force meters and is a really funny and useful gadget as a comparisson tool as you said it.

That thing helped me finding the optimal shifthing points and launching technique when I first got the my car... I would probbaly had gone over one clutch with out it...

Back on topic,

G-tech makes quality stuff...
