Yaris Q
I've been looking at the yaris for a while now. I recently sold my car and so I need something soon, either yaris or fit, but of course in SLC you can get a base yaris convenience pkg for 12500, 13400 auto and that's hard to pass up for a fit. Anyway, how are the 2010 3-5door LB automatic transmissions? Do they downshift a lot, are they smooth? I have been driving M/T's all my life and thinking I want to chill more when I drive in traffic and not hold in a clutch all the time.

I traded a 5-speed manual VW Passat for my 08 Yaris with an auto. It may be a little less spiriting to drive but also a bit more civil. I bought a Jeep about two years prior, and went with the auto as they are better on the trail, and now I have become a big fans of auto transmissions. You can shift a little with the auto, going into '3' and even '2' at the right speeds (the latter being <20 MPH); but no matter how hard you try, you will never be able to get a manual transmission to shift by itself!
Cheers! M2 |
