Totaled Yaris =(

Hello everyone, I posted on here a while back when I first got my Yaris in 2008....but school got the best of me, and I went MIA for a while.

Last week someone rear ended me on the 405 at 50-ish MPH and pushed me into another car. Needless to say, my car is totalled.

I am ordering a new Yaris once insurance is settled and everything gets straightened out. My mom works for Toyota HQ, so all of my cars I generally just order through her work straight from Japan. The only problem with this right now is that I have to wait until they get all of the ordering information for the 2011 Yaris up and running, because apparently the 2010 model is no longer available.

Stupid question, but does anyone know if there are going to be any changes for the color options and stuff for the 2011 model? I had a Hatchback S in Yellow Jolt, and I want to just order the same car basically but with power windows/locks (which they mistakenly didn't put in my last car when I ordered it). Getting information from my mom is sort of like pulling teeth, and when I went to the Toyota website I noticed that Yellow is no longer a color option (at least it wasn't coming up for me) =\

I'm doing fine. Surprisingly wasn't injured, and my airbags didn't even go off. Yellow cars are usually hard to find at dealerships. Luckily I won't have to deal with that since I'm just bypassing the dealership route by going through Toyota Headquarters.

I've never had my car totaled before. It's a lot to digest. What pisses me off the most is that the other person's insurance company keeps hounding me trying to get information, even though they have already been in contact with my insurance company.

This was my first accident. Hopefully this never happens again.

total loss as the first accident...sounds like a tough one to swallow. as long as you are doing well

Sorry about the car. You can, and should, tell the other insurance company to quit contacting you. Tell them you are documenting the call and get the callers name. Let them know that should contact your insurance company with any future questions or inquiries.

Typically they will contact you repeatedly to try to get you to give conflicting accounts or in hopes that they can confuse you into admitting to some fault. Either way it's a win for them if you try to go to court after they refuse to pay.

A Jeep pulled a left turn in front of me on my motorcycle a few years ago. The other insurance company claimed it was 25% my fault so they only wanted to pay for 75% of the damages. They'll try anything to reduce the amount they have to pay.

Bronsin: I know, right!? The front of the other person's car was EFFED UP. Stupid crappy Kia Sportage. She ran me into a VW, which fled the scene.

Sorry to hear this man. I'm dealing with a 2-year-old accident case myself that just won't end. Hope everything works out for you.

+1. I see nothing totaled here except for a bumper and a right fender. Pop a tire over a pothole and the insurer's want to write "total" in the claim ...

Wow, that looks like minor damage. Looks like it doesn't take much too write off a Yaris. Obviously, there must be hidden frame damage or simply enough damage to amount to more than 50% of the value of the car.

Sucks the same thing happened with my first yaris,but had more damage.Keep that car and fix it if the rear quarter's are not buckled.

My three were way worse and they kept fixing it. $4,500 first time, $8,500 2nd, and $4,800 the third.

My car has had more accident repairs than it cost originally, and they keep fixing it

I remember seeing your car in one of the YW meets. So bright and yellow.
Maybe you could just have your new one painted in the same color if Toyota no longer offer the yellow jolt for 2011
