Towing with my Yaris
Towed my 600lbs. motorcycle thru lightning, thunder and torrential rain but made it to Piqua Ohio after driving more than 4 hours.

Is the warranty almost up and you're trying to blow the tranny before?? I don't get it. Is there no U-haul in ohio?? That trailer with a 600 lb bike has to be over 1300 lbs. That's more than even european's recommend towing with the yaris. And then with some big ole heavy wheels on top of it?
Could you even get up to 45? edit: did the car always have an extra inch of wheel gap on one side? |

Ya it's probably a long story to explain why spending 20 bucks renting a uhaul was such a bad idea anyway. But I'm sure if you invested the money you saved wisely you could cover at least 10% of a new transmission.

Get it painted same color as the car and get matching wheels.

Is that an OEM moon roof option or after market? How much it cost you if you dont mind. It looks good and looks OEM. Any pics from the inside of the moon roof headliner?

What are those giant huge clunky wheels? I love 'em! They look great on the car

Just got back from a very short trip to Lindsay California towing a 1979-80 toyota longbed trailer. Before the trip though I took a cutting torch to it and removed the brakes (on the trailer obviously, not the car) and reduced the trailer weight by at least 60lbs easy. Put some light stuff in the trailer on the way down and had 4 people in the car, and hauled back up my 2.5 Lebaron engine, transmission, front axle, intercooler and piping, 6 watermelons, 5 cantalope, 2 people, 3 small dogs, box of avacodos, 2 boxes tomatoes, 3 pinapples, a toaster, blankets, pillows and a few other things just fine, and averaged 32mpg and that includes some AC use on flat or downhill, maintaining the speed limit most of the trip. Even with all that I'm pretty sure we were under 1,000lbs for trailer and cargo. Even though the trailer is truck based, it's pretty light. It did have helper springs on it with the leaf, and cutting those out saved significant weight as well. Also the trailer is the same width as the yaris and low enough the standard mirrors worked great, and there wasn't much wind resistance.
