Pirelli P4 seasons Tires
I'm just wondering if anyone has owned the Pirelli P4 seasons tires - or is currently using them now? I'm considering buying them as an upgrade for smoother freeway driving. My commute is about 250KM a day - and I mostly drive at 90KM/H to 110KM/H. I currently have the factory Goodyear tires (P185/60R15) but I know there are better options.
Thanks! |

I'm a convert to snow tires. I got a set of 14in steel wheels with Blizzak WS 60s and have 3 Winters on them...I've never had a time when I've felt like I'm going to get stuck (some decent hills and up to 6-8 in of unplowed snow). You switch them out yourself or have someone do it (they'll charge for a rotation), then get some cheap summer tires or wait for your OEM all seasons to wear out. I almost trust my Yaris more in the snow with the Blizzaks than I did my Subaru WRX in the snow with Pilot Sport A/S (which weren't cheap).
Also, I'm glad I went with the 14 inch rims because with the "proper" tire size (I forget what it is) the diameter is a bit smaller (plus the tires are thinner...the main reason I went with the 14 inch rims) so the tire bites better and there is more space in the wheel well to shed snow, or at least it seems that way. *edit: If you do go the snow tire route you may want to stick with the stock size tire as I find it noticeably less stable at highway speed with the smaller tires (fun around town thought!). No problem. Yeah, it would be nice if I could go back to just all seasons, but we usually get a handful of 4-8+ inch storms and it makes it worth the pain of changing over (especially with the pre-mounted snows).
Can't help you with the Pirelli tires, but I liked my Pilot Sport A/S, especially in non-ice/snow situations.
