Pick up/Acceleration
I have Yaris 2008 Sedan done only 12000 kms. It was ok till last month. Now I am noticing a very poor starting acceleration. I really need to press the accelerator hard to get move the vehicle. Once it is on move it is OK.
Any expert advise? Best Regards |

trust me its normal. the thread has been done a million times. :P
its a DBW "drive by wire" so it depends on how u drive n thats how the car responds. it keeps on learning. so the ECU keeps on learning the driver's behaviour. if ur a n aggresive driver u will feel a better response. if ur a very gentle user and a calm driver u will still fell a good response from ur car. if ur a calm driver n try to hit the pedal hard u will feel that the car takes time to learn.. so what u can do is drive aggressively for a while to make ur car respond better...DBW system is just something we have to get used to. remember ur yaris could be a 1.3 or a 1.5, thats a small engine n make sure u take ur care for service regularly. n when refuelling go for a premium one, not the crappy one. also super is just waste of money, wont make any difference on the car's performance. if u mean that acceleration is bad after u start the engine then perhaps u should wait till ur car warms up a bit. wait till that glowing "cool" sign goes off. it takes hardly 2 minutes. if u wana drive off quickly the car will not change to 3rd gear. if u push the limits it wont blow up the engine but ur seriously ruining its life... hope what i wrote helps, n that i answered ur question right. :) |

turn off the AC if you have AC..

Mines over 70,000 kl. now and feels no different than sortly after break-in.
That said, the difference in icy cold weather compared to steamy hot weather seems like a 25 hp loss.

i could see the vehicle running worse in the humidity/heat verses the cooler weather.
