regarding sa toyota yaris 2011 na may break overide. 2010 model pababa wala daw nun. ano yun?

Brake override -- or "smart throttle" -- is a software algorithm that acts as a tie-breaker between the gas pedal and the brake pedal. Once you step on the brakes, even if the gas pedal is pressed down at the same time, the car assumes you no longer want to accelerate.

The car acts as if you've stepped off gas, dropping the engine speed to idle. A driver could easily stop a car even if the gas pedal were pinned down down to the floor.

"There's an implausibility going on there, so we defer to the brakes," said Rob Moran, a spokesman for Mercedes-Benz, one carmaker that already uses this technology on all of its cars.

... basically a SAFETY FEATURE (add-on). IMHO, we should be thankful and enjoy for what we have right now, that's life! Some day next year there will be a new member here who has this model, who knows?

guys...have anyone of you experience smelling burning something (i don't know if it's rubber or what) from the right side of the car? i've noticed it lately, while i'm driving and pulled off, if someone open the right side door, i can smeel this annoying thing. i don't know if it comes from the exhaust or somewhere. i can smeel it only on the rightside...

@xtrem, very rare itong panukala mo bro. Best action is pa check mo sa Toyota, let them find it, mahirap nang mag baka sakali. Besides bago yan under warranty pa.
