High Miles on a Yaris? New buyer, help please!

Hi guys I am thinking of buying a Yaris to save some money and i think they are stunning little motors. I have found one but the millage is about 104 thousand. I know the Yaris and Toyota are known for being reliable, should I worry about the millage? The car itself cosmeticaly is amazing and looks new! It's the nice metalic blue and is the 1.3 VVTi CDX 5 door. Thanks guys and great site here

are they asking a fare price? can they demonstrate that they have taken really good care of it? what year is it? I got mine with pretty high miles. 75K on an 07. i have had it since june. it has been a great car. I love getting between 42 and 44 mpg tank after tank. If you buy it right, you can't go wrong. just my opinion.

A very fair price would be my first concern. At 104,000 miles, the Yaris is still a like new car except for possible wear items you should have checked to see if they have been done. Perhaps most notably the brakes. I'm at 91,000 miles on original brake pads but I imagine they're getting close to needing a change. You don't want to pay good money for this car and find out afterward that in needs an immediate brake job.

I honestly don't know how the reliability of the 1.3 is as that engine has never been in the USA. But we all know that the 1.5 is bullet proof and will go at least 300,000 miles. Well over 400,000 has already been documented here. I imagine the 1.3 has slightly less potential as it needs to work harder but I'd still count on a long life.

If it's been regularly serviced, passes a thorough inspection, and the price is right... then go for it.
