How much time am I running?

I have a 2010 5dr Hatch. I did a trip from SoCal to NorCal knowing that I have to do a oil change in 400+ miles. I was just wondering, how much time am I running if the light comes on? If I need to do an oil change, I'll do it here while I'm in NorCal, but if I have enough miles to run it back home to SoCal, is it possible? The "Maintenance Required" came on as soon as I hit 9700 miles.

Also, +/- 500 miles is okay.

Do you realize the maint required light comes on at preset intervals and doesnt know if you got clean oil or not? Many people dont know that and it can be reset easily. That being said, if you go over by a few hundred its not gonna hurt a thing. As long as oil level is good your fine. If you want to wait and have done by your regular person or do it yourself, go ahead.I've run over by 1000 miles before by accident on my other car. I use regular dino oil or synth blend myself, and I like to do it every 3000+- miles

OP,

If the light started flashing at 9700 then it will stay solid at 10,200. (4500 and 5000 mile intervals respectively). As mentioned above a few hundred beyond that isn't likely to hurt anything, so personally I'd change it when you get home regardless.

Ok, I was really worried, because I wasn't sure if I was gonna get enough gas on the way back to SoCal. So now I can just have my parents worry about the car. Lol. Something happened along the way on the 5. As soon as we got to NorCal, for some weird reason my brakes started to squeak a bit when slowing down. We ran cruise control most of the way, may that be the reason why?
