Not a lot of progress this weekend, my sons birthday and many other things going on, but here we are after 4 or 5 sanding sessions...

Also in the background started to fill in the gap between the a-pillar and sphere, got some "thread-serts" too (for the speakers.)

do I use spray 77 before all over the a-pillar? or just behind where it bends?

Negative ghost rider...

attach the cloth to the back. What you're doing shouldn't be covered by grill cloth IMHO. It should be painted. I say that we should look at it when we actually get there. In the mean time, how are the spheres looking?

When I ordered my Dash-Mat I asked for an extra yard of the same material, my intension was or is to cover the a-pillars with this fabric to match the Dash-Mat. And have less hard surfaces; this cloth is thick with 1/8" of foam in the back very good material to absorb sound waves like in a studio.

But like you said we'll look at it when once I get there. The sphere are coming along, I'm about to apply a thin layer of primer and get an idea of the surface.

Akkk! Dash mat material? That's a bit thick and farily non flexible compared to grill cloth. It'd be hell to get onto the pillar around the sphere.

But it's not going over the spheres, physically a-pillars and spheres are 2 different elements, mechanically they hold on each other with the threaded nipple and nuts.

So if I cover the a-pillars the spheres go on top, and my questions is that when you cover the a-pillar do you spray glue every where or just behind where it bends? my guess is everywhere they make contact???

I've been looking for DIY but no success

I'm saying that the dash mat material is too thick. Grill Cloth is sufficient.

no, you wouldn't spray all over the pillar for the simple fact that the spray glue will seep through the material. Now, if you use the dash mat material, think about your pillar edges. They're going to show. You don't want that. While the spray glue won't seep through the dash mat material, it will on the grill cloth.

Now, think about how with the thinner material you'd attach it to the pillar?

I know the answer...I want you to work it out in your head.

SQ you are tough. lol. I don't know what you use but we use hot glue. It is perfect for attaching grill cloth to plastic.

Hot glue is the first thing that came to my mind, but what about in summer? does it melt? In my other hobby (r/c airplanes) we rather not us it for many reasons one is... it melts in hot summer days!

The hot glue we use is black and holds up very well to heat. You're welcome for the shirts. SQ has one coming too.

Hot glue...standing up to the heat?!? Seriously? Not so much. Hot glue is great for the initial tack. I know i used it to hold my tweeters in place...silicone or epoxy is even better if you're holding something that you don't want released. Another idea is staples.

I know about the swamp ass heat in NC...actually GA...it gets nashty in the summers. Hot glue will start flexing and coming up in the heat of a car's interior in the summer. If that cloth is tight the resistance can take up the ends. Hot glue will become viscous when subjected to heat.

On the other hand, maybe I'm using the wrong hot glue. I dunno.

Mabye you are using the wrong glue? We use it all of the time here and never have it come back for warranty. The stuff we use is black but I don't know what brand it is.
