wait, you are going to ditch your car for 3 or 4 times a month at most?

dude just rent a car if it will be that infrequent, it is a heck of a lot cheaper.

Oh, and keep a lookout for used minivans. the ubiquitous dodge/plymouth/chrysler minivans sell for about $2000 or less, and are pretty darn reliable.

I second this suggestion. Rent a car or a minivan.

Wait, if you are babysitting your grand-kids, why not just borrow the parent's car or "trade" rides for the day? They do have a vehicle that can fit 3 car seats right?

i don't know if the yaris sedan 'officially' has more backseat room, but having those rear doors really makes a difference with the carseats and such. you could keep all your mods and transfer them over to a used yaris sedan and maybe not have to pay too much extra depending on the mileage of your 3-door?

I feel for you. Recently hurt my knee and now it seems i'm gonna have to get rid of my MT yaris, freaking sucks!

but at the end of the day, my recovery is far more important to me.

I love my yaris, if I sell it, I'm going to be miserable for moths lol spending money on repairs and extra gas. My god don't even want to think about it.

get a cheap van bro, that might work out for you.

I don't plan on ditching it, but not sure how we are to bring along 3 kids/car seats if/when we need to... Not sure if I can afford a rental or insurance on another vehicle.

no, they don't have a car that fits 3 but they don't have to. 1 daughter has 2 children and another is about to have one. when both of their work schedules intersect with a dr appointment, we will need to take 3 kids with us, somehow... besides neither daughter knows how to drive a manual...

sorry to hear about your knee, and your yaris... maybe you can buy a cheepo auto to use while you recover?

any ways... it's undecided what we'll do. I'm sure if I refuse, we will just have to schedule things differently to avoid these intersections. It will most likely leave me more sleep deprived and our lives a lot more hectic, but it will be worth it to me...

Yea, that's way too much... I really don't see any way to trade for any thing without losing lots of money, and no way to buy/rent a 2nd car with the money I make now... Basically, I really don't think we'll get rid of her... we'll just have to work it out.
