Yaris RS with leather. from the factory? - Toyota Yaris Forums

I just saw a 2009 Yaris RS for sale. What made me do a double take was the part about it having heated leather seats.

The link from the dealership is dead now.

Has anyone heard of heated leather seats from the factory?
I would've liked to got this one but I've got a new 2011 on the way.

A friend, member Adriaan, has factory leather in his 2006 CE. When he bought, for a very limited period of time, a leather upgrade option was available. I'd never heard of it before, and have never heard of it since. Until now. I think it ran around $1500 for the option and is very, very nice.

Some countries in Europe had a leather option. As far as i know the Netherlands are one of these countries. But someone told me the cars did not come with leather seats from the factory, they have been modified later. I don't know if this was done by the dealer or by local companies who work for Toyota.

it is probably an aftermarket option. Leather seats is one of the main things dealers add to cars with moon roofs. Almost every dealer has a place they send their cars to get those 2 things because they are wanted.

I kinda thought it was an aftermarket job too. But damn it looks factory in the back. I just love the back seats in this car.

I just had a look at toyota.nl and leather is still an available dealer option. 1350 EUR
Heated seats are an option, too. 250 EUR

Anyways the Yaris does not come with leather from factory. It has always been an option and cars were modified later. Japanese don't like leather seats so even luxury cars don't have them there.

In that listing, if you click on the VIN, it gives details that include:

Seat upholstery: cloth

So, it was definitely not built with leather. Around here the dealers have installers install Katzkin seat covers, which require an upholsterer to install, since the fabric has to be removed from the foam and the covers are stitched on.

Thx yaris 2sz , very interesting read. I can see this is much more than a quick install. I give the guy props for getting someone to install it for him or even better if he was able to do it himself somehow.

Here, full leather only cost US$800.

Mine is combine with suede leather.

Vitz (Japanese Model) comes with leather and heated seats. Mines got fabric heated seats (Factory Fitted)
