A Hyundai was our first choice, but we couldn't get a manual transmission one without a bunch of useless bull**** options. Neither the Hyundai or the Fit are cheaper than the Yaris here, although it might be an entirely different situation where you live.

Hmm..Yes! I checked, it is also pricey.I would wait a few years let it depreciate in value and strike when the iron is hot.I like My O7 Yaris for now.

I test drove one last month and I'm in love. It feels so much more solid than my Corolla, although the corolla is 14 years old!

You can screw together a couple of different length 2x6 boards and make some cheap simple ramps to give you a little more space under the car.

And by the way, I'm putting your '99 Corolla intake manifold on my 2012 Yaris!
That sounds like an interesting project. Got a thread going on it?

I won't be buying new, but I have thought about both of those cars.

The Honda is too expensive when it comes to insurance, another $120+ per year and Hondas seem to be a magnet for attracting attention from cops. Plus if I'm already paying a premium for a Japanese car so I'd like to get a Toyota since I'm already familiar with them.

The Hyundai would be a tempting choice if I was buying brand new. I don't find the fuel economy particularly stellar with them. I think I could do better with the Corolla with the 1.8 than the gutless Korean 1.6.
