That's why I have a project car.
I'm not playing with the drivetrain on the Yaris. Toyota did a great job with it. I have the space for whatever project. It's just a nice sense of security for me at this point.

And the sickness continues...
![]() You can see the hot side that is ceramic coated. ![]() Hot side down to the downpipe. This is going to be blanketed and wrapped. Notice this setup is V-band connected... ![]() The weenie 2 1/2" K&N Typhoon CAI versus the 4"-3" short ram that is going on. You also notice the new fuel rail that hides 1000cc injectors. ![]() ...This shot is the most unfortunate. What you're seeing is the back of the downpipe. The flashlight completely illuminated the dump tube. It looks like the tube is a light itself. It was just perfect timing on the picture. ![]() This is a full feed and returned fuel system with a rising rate FPR and an inline filter. The car is now corn fed completely. I have now officially put more into the car than I paid for it. I am also going to sell off some of the components taken off to dull the pain of the cost.

Finally got the car on the dyno after a lengthy fight with the fuel.
We're settling for 20lbs of boost, a little north of 400whp, until I build the block next year sometime. I'll post the dyno sheet next week. We tried 24lbs at near 500whp but the fuel leaned out too much at 4700rpm. We dialed it back and adjusted timing. I'll need to throw in another 255 or a 044 Bosch in the tank to reach higher boost. A 5 axis head and built engine will easily get the 24-26 lbs of boost I'm looking for. The turbo can hold 32-35 IIRC...so it's not being pushed anywhere near limits.

Finally got the car back. This thing gets on it...405hp to the wheels. Suspension, 044 and a retune is next. The damned shop didn't give me a good dyno sheet for all the money I spent...no gradients to judge the HP & Tq curve.
I'll just dyno somewhere else. Long story with the shop and some hidden charges...

Unfortunately no. If I had more space and the now how to program my Diablosport I would. I have the tools, just no space. HOA hags get crotchety when you have the entire exhaust system torn down in the garage and driveway.
That being said, I do have a place about an hour away where I can do all my suspension and brake work... I am treating the skittle to new custom badging. The front logo, instead of the ram, will say, "C2H6O" and the rear badge will be replaced from the SRT-4 stock badge to say "Neon ?" I did also buy and fill a nice little 5 gallon container with automotive everclear JIC I get caught low before I can fill up.

Wonderful build! Is wheel hop a big issue with your SRT4? LOL love the ethanol badge.

Wheel hop IS an issue with the OEM or even hard plastic inserts in the mounts.
Fortunately for me, even after receiving a briefing from the hacks that attempted to put on a turbo kit on my car saying otherwise, I've easily managed wheel hop. Even with the wrong wheel drive, I can launch the car fairly quickly. It's all clutch play and gas actuation otherwise called the driver's mod... ...oh yeah, and solid motor and transmission mounts. The next thing coming for the car is a Walbro 416 pump with a bottleneck fix in the canister. The Walbro 255 isn't cutting it and won't for my goal of 500 WHP. This pump and a re-tune will flex the low and mid HP and TQ from where I have it now. After that comes a 2-step/WOT box and boost by gear box. Then, finally, I'll concentrate on the suspension. Unfortunately I'm a working man and not independantly wealthy. This suspension, while relatively inexpensive totalling around $2000, will take time. It involves everything from new SS brake lines, strut and sway bars, nice KW coilovers, to all new bushings. Thankfully I can install all these myself with the help of my brother. So, pop a top on a beer and watch it happen. The goal is to drive this car around PIR in a HPDE event through the CSCC league. Of course I'll have GoPro for all that. @LT - These badges were made by one of your fellow peeps from NJ.

Would you mind sharing what the driver's mod is? The only way i managed to get around wheel hop is just to dump it at a higher RPM in my Yaris, is that similar to yours? So you're putting down 405fwhp on a stock bottom end? Is it common for the SRT4 engines to take that much abuse in stock form?
How is the vibration with those solid mounts? Would you mind taking a few larger resolution pictures between your 416 vs 255 pump when you get your hands on it? Who was the person that made those badges here in NJ for you? |

So far I am really happy with my AEM FP. They ate relatively newer to the scene, but flow very nice. Now if I can manage to get my adapter plate finished for my TB I should be stylin.

@ LT - the stock engine will handle 435WHP. I'm looking to peak at 500 WHP and then transplant the engine into a Lotus 7 chassis.
Along the way I'll have as much fun with the neon as possible. The driver's mod means that you lay off the right pedal enough to get traction and not blow off the tires. The boost box and 2-step will also help that when I put those on.

The yaris used to be a sound car back in 2010-2012. It did well enough to go to IASCA world Finals. I placed fourth in my class...ONLY because of a processor blow out the night before the competition. I had a falling out with the competition team after finding out that the jerky who did the mods on the processor had a 100% failure rate. People knew but no one told me...
...I have issues with people witholding important facts like that... There were other issues with the team, but this directly led to me selling all my equipment and getting into a project car, the SRT. Now it's going to morph into me fixing this car up and then transplanting the engine into a Lotus 7 chassis in a few years.
