I saw it happen once here that comes to mind.....about 10-15 cars in front of me going toward Houston on I-45....and (unlike the lucky idiots I've observed in the Bay Area) the guy actually caused an accident . I was able to avoid involvement in the accident .

When I posted Post #53 in reply to Post #52, I thought you posted Post #52. I just noticed chriswf posted post # 52 . However, you correctly realized I thought I was replying to you and posted accordingly . Chriswf probably (understandably) thought (if he read it) 'wtf, why is he mentioning California?'. I can see your sticker working in the Bay Area. Here? I don't know. As much as I love this state, I think too many idiots would look at your sticker as a challenge and would do something unsafe to 'recrify a feeling of being dissed '.

Re chriswf's reply, I thought you were talking about Tapatalk. Now I'm unsure if you mean ^^^^^ the site itself (over the years, from non mobile devices) or Tapatalk. If you are talking about the former..yes, I have had that issue a number of times over the years (even within the last week), and have often lost what I was typing .

80% of the people in SC cant drive. the worst are the ones that have the expensive cars. and while i don't like to profile i see more women that don't seem to want to look around, usually on the phone and just changing lanes all whilly nilly and not even attempting to look or signal. I can count on one hand the number of times i have seen a guy do it and most of them where really young, like still having a restricted licence young.

No, by this state I mean Texas. However, SOUTH FLORIDA is WORSE re such things . That the incident in the video happened there doesn't surprise me at all.

I spent a few days in SC last October (Spartanburg, Simpsonville, etc.) and I noticed the same. A bit ironic, considering the BMW plant is in Greer.

- Reading a comment (so far only on OTHER forums, IIRC) where the person has written that his/her curiosity has been peaked....the word is piqued. If someone is speaking quickly the sound is similar, but they are different words with different meanings.

- Hearing people say George Bush Jr. or George Bush Sr. . I don't have any fondness toward either one of them, but they aren't Senior and Junior as they don't have the same full name. The father could be correctly referred to a the elder George Bush or Bush 41, but not Senior. He is the only one with his name - George Herbert Walker Bush - he has two middle names. The first middle name -Herbert - is not part of his son's name. My father was a Junior, and he had the same given name his father did. IIRC, the distinction is also on my father's birth certificate. If I lived outside the Texaplex (Texas Urban Triangle - formed by the San Antonio, DFW, and Houston metro areas), I probably wouldn't hear this as often. They live here. Their libraries are here. The International Airport in Houston is named after the elder George Bush.

I know, picky first world issues.....but this is a 'Peeves' thread

Mercedes owners that don't use their turn signals. It happens so often that I suspect there is an explicit instruction regarding this behavior in the Owners Manual.

. More of the 'My time is too valuable to miss this exit, so I must do an insane cut over from the fast lane' people I've encountered on the freeways in California are Mercedes owners than not*.

* - or at least those are the instances that most stick in my mind .

From what I have seen there appears to be a correlation between car initial price and the inability to drive with any regard to surroundings or simply driving correctly. Kind of an elitist mind set that makes it so that they think that because they paid more that they have right of way and have no need to signal or even look for other traffic. That is why I go out of my way to practice proper and simple good driving edicate. sure I speed from time to time, but do so only when safe and not at all in residential areas, school zones, or heavy traffic.

granted the number of people that can drive around here are hard to notice because of the abundance of inferior drivers. there is a double lane right turn from where and interstate become a city street and nearly every time i use the left of the two right turn lanes someone from the the right one goes around the corner and whips to left across my lane into the far left lane. I now avoid going that way simply because I don't feel like dealing with getting hit by some moron that will try and say that it wasn't their fault they changed lanes in a curve, with out signalling, with out looking, and with complete disregard for driving safety.

^^^^^ Here some full size pickup drivers have this same mentality (even if their truck is a rusted out POS) when they see a small car like a Yaris. They'll pull off from a side street right in front of you so that you have to slam on your brakes (and I'm going 3-4 MPH below the limit ).

That is what train horns on a yaris are good for. I speak from experience.

I use the Hella horns with gold connectors and soldered joints. work great, really funny when someone looks at then through the grill and I hit the horn.
