Except for 3 (the C-MAX, the Taurus, and the Explorer), I share your opinion.

Supposedly though it will be the lightest car in the class, which will be good for everything. I haven't seen any final numbers even for the JDM models.

They're giving large discounts on the '14 2s' . $12,780 for Sport with the 5 speed manual . Discount near $3,000 . The automatic Sports are $13,600 with a savings near $2,900 . A few of them are Blue Reflex , great color , very close to the Pacific Blue . Wish we had more money, would get the Sport with the manual . The clutch is a breeze and the shifting is smooth as silk .

If my Yaris blew up tonight, I'd be hard pressed not to get a '14 Mazda2. Then again, I still really dig the Yaris SE. However, it's nearly impossible to get one with a manual transmission here in the PNW.

Yeah, right now (per the cars.com link roxy1 provided) there are only two in the entire United States, both in Arizona. One in the Phoenix Metro (Chandler), and one in Tucson.
