New here, getting an '07 Yaris in the morning
Red sedan.
Loved the test drive and think I will love the fuel efficiency. I have been driving a 3/4 ton Ford truck with issues causing me to get 6mpg, so going from 6mpg to 29 or more is going to be something. The test drive was a blast, and on a hilly highway and the car had no problem maintaining speed. I am going to be very excited in the morning, but its supposed to get rainy and cold tomorrow night, but at least I'll have a heater now. Looking forward to owning my first Toyota car and digging into the forums here. Aaron |

Welcome!
You should do a lot better than 29mpg. and a little bit better still with an MT. Cheers |

Im sure many here share my sentiment that we need all the people like you we can get who abandon their gas guzzlers for an economical car like the Yaris. Gas would have crashed downwards from the $2 mark long ago if everyone did as you are about to do.
But fuel economy isn't the only benefit from owning a Yaris! Its also a very reliable and practical car. It feels like a big car once you drive it for a week or so. And as you have noted, theres plenty of power for every day driving. So welcome! How many miles on it, BTW?

image.jpg112,000, got it off a friends used lot for $4000 and the truck.
Love it already. Did when I first drove it, and saw it, could not help but fall in love, with it. The black rubber strips up top on the roof were dried and I pulled them off, doesn't leak, but will get those soon from a Toyota or aftermarket shop. I am going to love this car, I could not be happier. |

There are only two other counties in Texas I could ever see myself living in....Walker....and Tarrant (North Richland Hills, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, or Colleyville). North Richland Hills is only 55 miles from Mineral Wells

North Richland Hills is where I went to look at a manual Jetta Wagon that probably never existed and went home with a Yaris instead. A/C died in my 97 Golf and what with a ton of other stuff being broken I decided it was time for a newer car. And the thing Mineral Wells is famous for is its giant albatross of abandoned hotel.
