1.4D timing belt/chain
Can anyone tell me when the timing belt/chain needs changing

The Yaris has a timing chain, not a belt. My understanding is that it should last the life of the car. Mine has 120K miles currently.

The 1.4 D4D is a chain driven engine mate. I've seen the factory diagrams for it.
I would expect the chain to outlast most other stuff on the engine.
