Mazda could use a car below the Mazda3. I wonder if Ford will use the Mazda2 platform for any possible small car, seems likely if it were to happen, cuts costs down from created a new car.
ford will be coming out with the festiva... seriously

Gorgeous profile though.
The front end...

Why integrate the radio into the dash, a low quality one at that???? Major gigantic PITA to swap out and maintain a stock look.

I couldnt do it... it would have alot of ground to make up for those 2 shortcomings.

Yeah there's an article that Ford is coming out with a small car more than likely based off the Mazda2 but I rather buy a car with the Mazda badge on it.

The only part of that car I don't like the looks of is the Trapper Keeper design on the seats. The front end also isn't ideal, but I could live with it, since eveything else is so very, very nice. Another score for Mazda, imo.

Def not gonna be in the same price range as the Yaris. I do like that shifter placement though.

no need to panic now...
it's not a competition for yaris...
according to most internet resources,
ford is not even planning to bring it over here... at least not in a short time...
one guy in a mazda forum even emailed mazda... they said no plan to bring it here...
ford will bring a crappy version of this here though...
it will be made in brazil...
as usual... ford always keep better cars out of america...
so... yaris will still rule...

i really like the look of the new mazda 2's.......they really styled it up....(copying the yaris) ha

but the grille where the mazda symbol is could use some work, they shouldnt have put those 2 wing things on the grille.

I don't see how it couldn't be in the Yaris price range... you can get a Mazda 3 starting @ $14,500, so a step down would inherently be a few thousand less.
