07 Yaris Front brake Pad Question
I have 240K (mostly highway) miles on my hatchback and it has never had the brake pads changed. I had tires replaced recently and asked the mechanic to look at the pads,... he said they were getting thin.
I have done many pad changes on various cars & motorcycles but not on the Yaris. I usually compress the caliper with a screwdriver wedged between the pad and rotor for leverage. Is that method possible on this car? I just want to be sure I have necessary tools before I start. If a C-clamp is needed, will I need 3 0r 4 inch? Many Thanks. |

First time hearing of screwdriver method on anything. Since compression is used to retract our pistons you can certainly try it. Personally I'd go for c-clamp since pressure applied is smooth and consistent. 6" clamp.
