Hard time choosing color; dark colored cars absorb more heat??

Statistically, maybe, but I think it has to do more with the mentality of the people who typically choose red than the color itself. I have a red Echo that I've only been pulled over in once in the over five years I've owned it, and really, I had it coming doing 72 MPH in a construction zone with a 55 MPH speed limit. The thing is, I didn't buy red because I wanted it; I bought it because it was the only car the dealer had that met my specifications and it happened to be red. The same thing happened with my Yaris (well, really, there's a white one, too, but I think white looks a little underwhelming on the sedan... Fantastic on the liftback, though). I wouldn't let a little actuarial wisdom prevent you from getting red if it's what you really want.
