if there is no tension whatsoever on the release, then it could be a broken cable, if there is tension, then it's probably just stuck. Have somebody pull up on the release (or prop it up so it's fully extended) and then using a small flat head screwdriver try to pry the door open. *** make sure you wrap the long part of the screwdriver in cloth or something soft so you don't destroy your paint and cover the end of it as well. don't pry too hard either*** hopefully it opens and you can either clean it, or replace it - be warned though it may not close again after opening it if it's a mechanical issue. |
