My car got totaled - Toyota Yaris Forums

One of my better half's co-workers was involved in a collision last weekend in where she was hit by someone texting and driving, causing her to roll 3 times. Her and her husband walked away from it, but swear to the side curtain airbags having saved their lives. She urged my better half and the rest of her co-workers to consider getting a car with them if they didn't already have them.

I've never given a ton of thought to the lack of certain features in my Yaris, such as ABS, side airbags, etc., but I'd be lying if hearing about this incident didn't get me thinking a little more about it. After all, the Yaris is already smaller than just about anything on the road that might run into it. There are people that commute on motorcyles - so to some degree it's just fate and the luck of the draw. Nevertheless, my better half and I are toying with the idea of getting me a replacement. I'm on the fence because I really like my car and I like not having the monthly payment, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't absolutely love a new Focus RS, Civic SI/Type R, or Accord Sport.

Would be great if you updated this thread with your impressions of any cars you take a serious look at and/or test drive.
