I lost my car of 8 years with only 150,000 miles on it. There was black ice on the road and I started to lose control. For a second, I thought my tire blew out. Instead of doing the right thing, I stepped on the brakes then tried to veer to the right. I was afraid of drifting into the opposite lane and crashing head on with another car. So, I swerved off the road and could have been alright if not for a twenty foot log on the side of the road. I wasn't scared of hitting the log, but upon impact, the car launched in the air and landed upside down. I was shocked but not hurt. The first thing you think is get out and I tried the power window and thankfully it worked. I crawled out and knew instantly the car was beyond saving. I'm pissed. It was the first day of december and about 31 degrees. I had driven on icier and snowier roads before and never experienced a loss of control as yesterday. I'm still in shock this happened and I wasn't injured. I had intended to keep the car for another 100,000 miles. It was a great car. See the link for the accident pics.
