Tuned a DBW Toyota yesterday
For a bit now I've been preaching about mods on the DBW Toyota's. Yesterday I witnessed the BS first hand. I tuned a 07 Matrix XR with a SRI, cat-back and AEM wideband. We went out for a quick ride to just monitor what was happening and I told him to turn around immediately. As soon as you put the motor under load it would damn near hit 17:1 AF!!!! This is VERY dangerous!!!
We installed a Emanage Blue and tuned the car for an hour or so. After ironing out the cruise AF's and then the WOT AF's to 12.5:1 the car ran VERY smooth and had excellent pickup! We then went a step further and tuned timing a lil bit and gained a bit more pickup in the mid and top end. I highly recommend anyone with a DBW Toyota and mods to get a wideband and check it out. I havent heard of anyone on here yet with mods AND a wideband so I'm VERY interested to see if it relates to the Yaris. I dont see why it wouldnt..... |
