Drift Yaris + NST Pulleys = :)
HEY Everyone!
Back in the spring I started a dialog with the great folks at NST. I wanted a little more power out of the 3RZ engine in the Drift Yaris and they agreed to build some prototype pulleys! Aside from the custom intake and headers, this seemed like a good logical modification. I want to keep the car normally aspirated and didn't want to crack into the internals just yet. Therefore bolt-on externals seemed logical, and I already have the basics (I/H/E). They made the process fairly simple and in a few short weeks after they moved into their new and improved facility we were in business. I had a brand new set of pulleys on my door step. The installation went virtually painlessly. The Yaris has a very open engine bay and being that I’ve had this thing together and apart so many times it made it very easy to get in there and install these new parts in a mere 30 minutes. The full installation is viewable on my Drift Yaris Blog or Flickr. http://www.mospeed.com/yaris/archives/111 Or http://www.flickr.com/photos/32520229@N03/ After installing the pulleys the results are clear. The car starts and idles more smoothly. Upon acceleration the throttle response is quicker. The car picks up and goes much much nicer than it had before. There had been a small bogging out upon first starting out, but this seems to have gone away now. Overall the experience has been very pleasant. The people of NST have worked well with me through my crazy life the last few months and I look forward to bringing the car out in the spring time for some test n’ tunes. |
