Problems?

Okay, so i bought my 2009 Toyota Yaris at the end of October of this year. So i've had it for like, 2 months.

The brakes have become very mushy, to the point where i have to forcefully push them as far as they can go to stop the vehicle at any given speed.

One morning I was doing around 25 mph, and the car just wouldnt go any more, so i pressed the pedal down far, and nothing happened..so i pulled over..just checked things out, and it was fine after that.

So I take it back to toyota, I have them check it all and everything, and they stood there and called me crazy and said nothing was wrong with the vehicle.

Has these problems happened to anyone else?

And also, does anyone have problems with the automatics not shifting after 40 mph?
