Is it me or does the Yaris have a touchy clutch?
Is anybody else having the same problem?
I just got my car (Yaris LB 2007 manual transmission) a couple of weeks ago and I'm having a really hard time shifting gears smoothly. The first gear is especially touchy!! I only drive it around for errands and stuff, not on a daily basis, so it is possible that I'm still in the transition phase of adapting to a different car? I have been driving Hondas manual transmissions for a lot of years, and they do feel a little different (easier, I think). I did not purchase the car new, but I've had clutches go out on me before, and it doesn't feel like that is the case. I've read somewhere in the forum that other posters have had that same problem in the beginning. How long did it take you to get through this "transition" phase, if that's what it is? Right now, it's really unpleasant, almost feels like I'm learning how to drive again. Can anything be done to adjust the clutch? Should I have it checked, just in case? Any ideas, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
