I usually use the metal-polishing cotton-wool stuff - it's called DuraGlit in England, but I forget what it's called in the US. Smells like sh!t, looks like moldy cotton batting, but it is great for polishing plastic.
But PLEASE, try a little bit in the corner to make sure that this plastic is OK with it.
