Holy Rustoleum Brake Man !!
Help !! I installed some gorgeous front rotors and a rear disc brake conversion kit on saturday. On sunday it rained off an on all afternoon and night. When I woke up and went out to the car this morning my new rotors were covered in rust !! Well I figured the pads would wear away the rust where they rubbed, but how do I get all this additional rust off. Brake cleaner doesn't take it off.
My gorgeous wheels now have a rust back drop. Cosmetically, I'm stressing out. I'm a clean freak. Having rust like this show on a clinically detailed car is unacceptable. Am I going to have to take off my wheels, use steel wool and a rust cleaner on the rotors, then spray them with brake cleaner to get off any residue, put my wheels back on, everytime I wash my car? Is there not a solvent I can put on a rag, then wipe the rotors off, and presto.... rust removed? Here's a couple of pics...
