I agree with the architect, especially when it comes to weight. Dynamat if I recall is almost twice as heavy as Raamat and really your weight should be in vinyl, not your viscoelastic deadening mat.
I'm seriously contemplating getting stuff from http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ The site used to be just a comparison of top deadeners on the market - dynamat, raamat, b-quiet, etc. He did heat tests and deadening tests, and showed the results. Well now they sell stuff, and it seems like its more thorough than just slapping down an aluminum roll everywhere. It seemed like they were in pursuit of a quality product before, and I think its a genius move from a marketing standpoint - there's literally thousands of forums out there that say things like "This is a really good site that you should check out if you wanna know about sound deadening - link" In fact if you search "sound deadener showdown" on yarisworld you'll see what I mean ;) |
