with the one-nut setup on the front strut, the suspension moves a surprising amount....
crank your wheel all the way to whatever way you say clunks, then pop the hood....check out the top of your strut tower....i bet its sitting up....
the clunk COULD be the strut rubbing on the top of the strut tower as you slightly straighten out your wheel...

I am having the 'clunk' suspension problem. I had coils put on about a month ago and it was fine until a couple of weeks after. The sound happens only from the right side of the car and when I hit a bump or am turning left and hit a bump (more frequently like this). It also happens at a certain point when I jack up the right side of the car. I thought the strut cap also, and from my jack and listen inspection it doesn't seem to come from there but from the lower part of the car, like the sub frame. When people say 'retorque' the sub frame bolts are they looking for a certain value or just cranking down on the bolt more.
If it is a bolt problem I was thinking of removing, applying some hardcore locktite and retorqueing the bolts to spec or with in a reasonable range (I don't know what that range is rite now).
