toyota mpgs
I have been buying Toyotas for many years now, as my folks have. My first was a 1970 toyota corona mkII, paid $500. My second was a 1972 Corona that I paid $1000 and drove for 7 years before selling it, and my wife had a 1982 Cressida sedan. I have found that when you buy a toyota you should expect that the mpg won't start exceeding your expectations until after it gets at least 25k on the odometer. It takes that long for the engine to start loosening up. And after that the mpg will steadily increase until it hits around 100k which it will pretty much be at its peak for mpgs. My folks have 4toyotas with over 300k on them and they trust them not to let them down. They change the oil and filters every 5k.
