Ask and ye shall...um, get.
Here, per request, are some interior shots of the little Yaris. Behold, it's hatchness! It's no Audi A6, but this is still a very inviting interior--and I love spending time here. The seat bolstering is very firm, but not hard. You don't slide around in u-turns, you are planted in the bucket seat firmly. The seats are firm, but still comfortable. Only Mercedes does this better, based on my limited seat-time in them. The steering wheel is very chunky, and feels "just right" in your hands. There are very small, subtle "finger grab grooves" (?) for your fingers, and turn-in is outstanding in this class. The stalk controls/turn signals/lights/wipers have slight index finger indentations that just fit perfectly, and allow effortless leverage when you twist them (lights on left, wiper spray on right). The gearbox is only 4-5 inches from the steering wheel base, so rapid shifts are there for the taking--if you want to do so. Again, the "new" has started to wear off, but I am still very pleased. The Yaris is still a great place to spend a few hours driving, listening to MP3s (thumb-drive in the glovebox), and just enjoying yourself. This thing is a huge improvement over the gen 2 car. I'm so happy I bought one! |
