Kinda reminds me of a 'hot soak' issue in first-gen vibe/matrix. when the car has been driven for a while, then stopped attempting to restart in 20 or so minutes results in a prolonged crank and no start. Doing it again immediately starts it ok. Toyota issued a software 'fix', but it only made it better without eliminating the issue completely.
