They are known for conservative and tastefull styling in the past but no more.

If I had the money and wanted to spend that much money on a car (why?) I wouldnt buy one of them because of the styling.

I would tell the salesman Im not buying one of your cars because of the way they look.

I agree with you re the interior and exterior of any current Mercedes (terrible), and the exterior of of some BMWs, but not any current BMW interior, with the 1 series through the 5 series being the best.
